The issue of food waste is currently an often discussed topic at all levels. In the whole food chain in developed countries, households waste the most. The official statistics often only estimates the amount of wasted food and it is not easy to determine the actual volume of wasted food in households.
During the workshop, we will present the results of our project focused on food waste. The project we are solving at Mendel University aims to obtain data about how much food is wasted in households and to define how households can be influenced to waste less food.

Special guests: doc. Ing. Lea Kubíčková, Ph.D. (MENDELU), Ing. Lucie Veselá, Ph.D. (MENDELU)

IW 2020 - International Networking in times of COVID-19

Mendel University in Brno had changed the face to face International Week into an online form in October 2020. We were enormously grateful to host 55 participants from all over the world who had the opportunity to discuss the current topics. The conference generated a lot of ideas about online: Digital international recruiting, Virtual mobilities, Consortium of European universities, New Erasmus+ programme.

Participant testimonial

"I really enjoyed my time during the International week held at Mendel University.  It really looked like the organization of the event was planned accordingly, on a high level. The communication from the organization team was good. The program of the International Week itself was rich on the events like workshops, lectures, field trips, etc. The organization team made sure that every guest felt welcomed.

I think the event provided a great opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Mendel University and KFU and also build relationships with those universities that also participated in the International Week. At the GoAbroad Fair we could learn about each other, exchange university leaflets and business cards.

At the Farewell Dinner we had another chance to learn about each other and enjoy each other's company in a non - formal setting. It was a wonderful time in a beautiful place with great food and atmosphere.

I just want to thank all colleagues at the Mendel University for organizing such a great and useful event. "
